Kläger SPC at the Hydrogen Powertrain Congress: Shaping the Future with Expertise and Innovation

Ronny Langer and Thomas Berger from Kläger SPC took part in last week’s Hydrogen Powertrain Congress hosted by the national transformation hub cH2ance in Chemnitz. This annual expert congress brings together leading representatives from the automotive and supplier industries to present and discuss strategies, technologies, and projects related to hydrogen powertrains.

A particular highlight was the groundbreaking keynote speeches by Toyota and BMW – two pioneers in hydrogen mobility. BMW recently announced that it will begin series production of its iX5 Hydrogen, previously produced in small series since 2023, starting in 2028. Toyota showcased the second generation of its hydrogen-powered production vehicle, the “Mirai”.

For Kläger SPC, the panel discussion with cellcentric – a leading developer of fuel cell systems for heavy-duty commercial vehicles integrated into Volvo and Daimler trucks – was of special interest. Kläger SPC technology is already playing a role here: the company supplies two PPS separator tubes to Pierburg, which are used in key components such as the hydrogen recirculation blower and the water circulation pump.

In addition to the technology exhibition, where Kläger SPC had the opportunity to present itself, the speed dating format proved to be a complete success. It enabled the team to establish promising new contacts with potential customers – including a major German automotive supplier.

The congress served not only as a networking platform but also as an opportunity to demonstrate that Kläger SPC stands for high-performance, durable, and precise plastic components made from advanced polymers, actively contributing to the shift toward climate-friendly mobility.

“The congress clearly showed how dynamically hydrogen technology is evolving in the automotive sector – and the important role we already play in this transformation with our innovative high-performance plastic solutions. Due to its properties, PPS plastic is perfectly suited for contact with hydrogen, and we specialize in its demanding processing – a future opportunity with great potential.”
Ronny Langer, Head of Quality Assurance and Product & Process Development, Kläger SPC
